Goodjoe

They say the clothes make the man, but at Goodjoe.com the clothes make a difference.

Goodjoe is a t-shirt company that was started with an idea a college friends, Nathan Pham and Jourdan Yeh,  kicked around a few years ago.  Their mission statement says "We strive to empower and creatively inspire individuals to contribute to our local and global communities."  Reading the information on the website, a person continues to run into words like "inspire", "creative", "community", and "good".  It's easy to see that these guys have a heart for the world around them and serving the greater good.

Goodjoe works through a series of weekly contests.  These give professional and amateur artists the opportunity to show off work that carries a message.  Themes that Goodjoe is looking for include:  "family, health care, education, environment, research, sports, humanitarian aid, animal protection, the arts, social issues, and charitable related issues."  The Weekly Contest is voted on by the Goodjoe community and the winning design gets printed as a new shirt.

In addition to paying their artists, $1 from each shirt sold goes to the Goodjoe Bucket.  This is applied to the Greater Good series.  Here designers work on shirts that apply to a nonprofit organization's mission statement.  The nonprofit gets to choose the design then they receive the Goodjoe Bucket as well as up 50% of the proceeds from that shirts sales.

Goodjoe is a cool concept.  A company that encourages community, creativity, and positive change in the world.  My hat's off to them!

Head over to goodjoe.com and see if any of their designs pique your interest!

Peace.
